How We Approach Every Service
Every watch that arrives at Lotus Hour goes through the same initial sequence, regardless of which appointment was booked. The watch is logged, its condition is recorded, and the technician takes time to understand what it needs before any technical decision is made.
From there, the path diverges based on the appointment type and what is found. Quartz services follow a defined and efficient process. Movement services involve more components and more time. Estate assessments begin with a conversation before a tool is picked up.
In all cases, the work is explained before it proceeds, and nothing is done outside the agreed scope without contact first.

Quartz Service and Refresh

An appointment for quartz watches that have grown dull through years of daily wear. The battery is changed, gaskets are replaced, and the case and bracelet are gently cleaned and refinished by hand. We also inspect the movement contacts and circuit for signs of fatigue, replacing the cell only when its condition supports continued use.
Suitable for everyday wearers who wish to keep a familiar watch in service for many more years rather than replacing it.

- Battery replacement with appropriate cell for the movement
- Gasket replacement for water-resistance restoration

Service Two
Wristwatch Service with Strap Selection

A combined appointment that pairs a full movement service with a strap consultation in our small fitting area. After the technical work is complete, the owner is invited to try several matched straps in different materials, choosing the one that suits the way they wear the watch.
Well suited to owners who value the feel of a watch on the wrist as much as its mechanical condition, and who would appreciate a single visit covering both concerns.
Process steps:

Service Three
Estate Watch Assessment and Renewal

A patient service for watches that have been received through family or estate, and whose owners would like to understand and gently renew them. We begin with an assessment appointment in which the owner shares any history they hold, after which we plan the work needed to bring the watch back into respectful daily use.
The work commonly includes movement service, dial cleaning, and case refinishing, though we always discuss what is appropriate for each piece before beginning.
What to expect:
- Opening conversation about the watch and its known history
- Thorough condition assessment with written findings
- Agreed service plan covering movement, dial, and case as appropriate
- No over-restoration — original finish and character preserved where possible
- Returned in condition suited to thoughtful daily use
